With 5-foot-11-inch Christie Brinkley lording over us, why would any man admit to even watching a bikini shoot? The 66-year-old model walked the red carpet in Hawaii yesterday in a tight red suit with an opened neckline and a leg so long she looked taller than Bridget Bardot. Brinkley looked no worse for the wear.
Brinkley is in Maui for Footwear News Achievement Awards which are held every other year and will air Jan. 15 on TNT. Brinkley, along with Rockettes Jeanette Ruiz, Allison Rand, Ivy Clarke, Lauren Stepanek, Ashley Wilkes, Krystal Davis, Dyan Cannon, Joanne Freeman, and Joey Quinn were all recognized for their work in footwear. Some from other categories were also recognized for their contributions to footwear, including Donna Karan, Pierre Hardy, Pudgie Galore, Nick Howson, Rose Namajunas, Rick Owens, Bret “Hitman” Hart, Stacey Bendet, Debra Lee, Brian De Palma, Neil Forster, Converse, Kimora Lee Simmons, Brian Reyes, Shayne Oliver, and Mr. Teeth.
According to Footwear News, Brinkley is an inspiration to young women, “helping them envision what a healthy body can look like as a fitness model and biker chick and a glowing face on the cover of several magazines.” Brinkley was not featured in this year’s Coming to America sequel, but she was in the 2015 reboot, so there is that to look forward to.
